Goji Berry Bush - 1 Live Starter Plant - Lycium Barbarum - Fruiting Shrub for Your Patio or Edible Garden

The Goji Berry Plant (Lycium barbarum) is a resilient deciduous shrub admired for its graceful, arching branches and clusters of bright red berries that dangle like jewels among its slender green leaves. Native to Asia, this productive plant brings a touch of exotic beauty to gardens while offering an abundant harvest of vibrant berries throughout the warm months. Its elegant shape and fine-textured foliage make it equally suitable for ornamental planting or edible landscapes, blending aesthetic appeal with reliable productivity.Growing up to 8–10 feet tall when mature, the Goji Berry Plant thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, developing into a hardy, drought-tolerant specimen once established. In spring, it produces delicate purple blossoms that later give rise to elongated berries ripening in summer and fall. Adaptable and self-pollinating, this shrub flourishes in a wide range of climates and growing conditions. Its long lifespan and easy-care nature make it an excellent choice for gardeners seeking a durable, fruitful addition to their home landscape that rewards attention with both beauty and bounty.

• Physical Characteristics: Featuring narrow gray-green leaves and a graceful arching form, the Goji Berry Plant produces delicate lavender flowers followed by small, elongated red berries. The colorful fruit contrasts beautifully against the foliage, providing a striking visual display from midsummer through early autumn while enhancing any edible or ornamental garden space.
• Sunlight Requirements: Goji Berry Plants flourish in full sun, requiring a minimum of six to eight hours of direct light each day to develop strong growth and consistent berry production. While the shrub can tolerate partial shade, ample sunlight ensures optimal flowering and abundant fruit set throughout the season, encouraging compact and healthy branching habits.
• Watering Guidelines: During the first growing season, keep soil consistently moist but never waterlogged to encourage a deep, resilient root system. Once established, the Goji Berry Plant becomes notably drought-tolerant, needing only occasional deep watering during dry spells. Balanced moisture levels help maintain steady growth and continuous berry development.
• Soil Preferences: This adaptable shrub performs best in well-drained soil with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH. Loamy or sandy compositions are ideal, allowing proper air circulation around the roots. Poorly drained sites should be avoided, as standing water can inhibit growth and reduce berry yield. Raised beds or containers improve drainage in compact soils.
• Growth Rate and Maintenance: The Goji Berry Plant exhibits a moderate growth rate and responds well to light pruning, which shapes the canopy and promotes productive new shoots. Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth appears. With minimal maintenance, this shrub will steadily increase in size and fruiting potential year after year.
